China today reported its first suspected case of swine flu involving a person infected with the virus inside the country.
It is the first suspected case of "domestic infection on the mainland," state-run Xinhua news agency said quoting the Health Ministry.
The patient, in the southern province of Guangdong, had been in close contact with a confirmed carrier of the A/H1N1 virus, the report said.
The WHO said 13,398 people in 48 countries had been infected with the A/H1N1) virus since it was first uncovered in Mexico last month.
The dreaded diseases has so far caused 95 deaths, it said yesterday.
