The Centre's fiscal deficit for the first two months of the current financial year constituted 61.1% of the Budget Estimates for 2016-17. In the corresponding period of 2015-16, it had stood at 51.6% of BE for that year.
The April-June fiscal deficit was at Rs 3.26 lakh crore.
The total spending during the quarter was at Rs 5.12 lakh cr, at 25.9% of FY17 estimates.
The plan spending was at Rs 1.47 lakh crore, at 26.8% of FY17 estimates.
The non-plan spending was at Rs 3.64 lakh crore, at 25.5% of FY17 estimates.
