In a move aimed at maintaining fiscal discipline, the finance department had dropped most of the proposals submitted by various departments for inclusion in the second supplementary demands.
The state government is likely to present the second supplementary demand for grants for 2010-11 on the second day of the assembly session starting Monday. The size of the supplementary demands had been limited to Rs 1100-1200 crore.
A senior official with the finance department said that most of the proposals submitted by various departments were dropped for inclusion in the second supplementary demands. The department heads were asked to submit the proposal by 26 November.
The second supplementary demands were given final shape in a meeting with Chief Minister Raman Singh (who also holds the finance portfolio) in which most of the proposals were dropped, the official said. In all, proposals worth more than Rs 4000 crore was submitted by the departments.
After dropping the proposals, the size of the second supplementary demands had been confined to Rs 1100-1200 crore, the official said, adding that the proposals had been put on hold and would be included in the main budget for the fiscal 2011-12.
