FM, regulators on a 3-day US visit

India and the US will discuss currency market volatility, global capital flows, financial sector reforms and infrastructure funding during a three-day visit by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee along with regulators to Washington from Monday.

Mukherjee is slated to interact with Secretary of Treasury Timothy F Geithner. The finance minister would also participate in the Cabinet-level meeting of the India-US Financial and Economic Partnership with Geithner, officials said.

Both the sides are likely to discuss macroeconomic issues like role of US and India in changing world environment, global capital flows and its implications for advanced and emerging economies, currency market volatility, management of capital inflows and infrastructure financing. They are also likely to discuss issues relating to financial sector reforms, commodity pricing, financial markets and financial Inclusion, among others.
