Kalam, who was speaking at the inaugural function of the Kinfra Food Processing Park at Kakkancherry in Malappuram district, also urged local entrepreneurs to make full use of all the infrastructure and facilities being set up by the Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Kinfra) to create fully integrated units in the region.

Commending Kinfra for choosing remote areas for industrial estates, he said: "This is a healthy sign and the corporation must continue with this effort. Once the projects go operational, there will be an automatic boost to the region and more and more people will get employment."

Advising Kinfra to create a network of educational institutions, research and development and infrastructural laboratories, Kalam said such a step would help in maximising the gain of the entrepreneurs and farmers in the region.
