Addressing a conference organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry here on Wednesday, Babu said the state government had worked in the direction of creating a grid for oil and gas. A panel had also been set up to develop a new port through public private partnership (PPP).
Adviser to Railway Board on infrastructure, Girish Pillai, said a model shift from road to rail and a model mix of logistics were required. He pointed out that railways had opened up a lot of opportunities for PPPs. Private containers, rail side warehousing, investment in infrastructure and support in last mile connectivity were some of the avenues. The day-long conference was held to focus on the opportunities available in the intermodal and multimodal logistics among others.
