The Avantha Group promoted Thapar University would have a new campus at Dera Bassi near Chandigarh imparting courses compatible to the emerging needs of corporate sector.
The Chairman and CEO of Avantha Group and President of Thapar University Gautam Thapar said that the group had a vision to rollout a new model of higher education in Punjab. He added that the participation of the local industrial houses in the management and engineering courses was mulled for the new campus.
The project would entail an investment of about 100 crore located in 22 acre in phase one and futher stretch it to 60 acre in phase two.
Keeping cognisance of the growing awareness of environment protection and green technology, a master programme in Energy Conservation would be a part of the curriculum.
