"The state has not recovered from the effects of last year's calamity. Reconstruction and redevelopment measures are our priority. Frequent strikes by employees' organisations in such circumstances make our task all the more difficult," Rawat said. The chief minister also met a number of delegations representing different employees' organisations of the state.
Apart from affecting development and reconstruction work, frequent strikes also spoil the image of the state, he said. The problems can be solved through negotiations, he said. Rawat also said state government will ensure that the interests of employees don't suffer.
