Gail (India) Ltd has commissioned the Rs 150-crore Thulendi-Phulpur pipeline. With this, gas supplies have commenced to Iffco.

The company has also begun naphtha supplies to NTPC's Auraiya plant as part its annual contract of 14,000 million tonnes.

The Thulendi-Phulpur pipeline means that Gail has completed one more leg of its proposed national gas grid. The other two legs completed so far are the gas expansion and rehabilitation project (GREP) and Dahej-Vijaipur pipelines.

Other pipelines in the national gas grid currently under construction include the 474 km Dahej-Uran pipeline scheduled for completion in March 2007, the 375-km Panvel-Dabhol pipeline scheduled for commissioning in March 2007, and the 192-km Vijaipur-Kota pipeline scheduled for completion in December 2006.

With respect to naptha marketing, fuel has been produced for the first time at Gail's plant at Pata. The company will also start producing naptha from Vijaipur in MP and Gandhar in Gujarat soon and the supply has already been tied up with the other unit of NTPC at Anta. Gail will be manufacturing about 65,000 million tonnes per annum at all its locations together.
