Gas safety class for BSP officials, employees

The first of the special session of the workshop was addressed by Head of Works of BSP Y K Degan today

Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), the flagship entity of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) would aware its officials and employees about dealing with the gas in the special session of workshop.

"The current special series of workshops, named as Sameeksha 4, will continue for 10 days and would cover cross-section of officers from all across the Plant," the plant spokesperson said. The workshop started Monday with a focus on creating awareness among employees about "gas hazards and preventive measures", the spokesperson added.

On June 12, leakage of deadly gas in BSP's pump house claimed six lives. The victims included two senior deputy general managers.

The first of the special session of the workshop was addressed by Head of Works of BSP Y K Degan today. As many as 130 Executives across the ranks from Junior Managers to Deputy General Managers from 26 shops and departments of the Plant participated in this workshop.
