Gece & #8216;Powers & #8217; Gis For Vadodara

Global Energy Consulting Engineers (GECE), a city-based firm with focus on IT solutions and consultancy services in the power sector, has executed a state-of-the-art GIS project for the power distribution network in Vadodara, Gujarat.

Formally inaugurated on Sunday by Narendra Modi, the chief minister of Gujarat, the integrated GIS project covers the entire city power distribution network with a consumer base of 4.20 lakh.

For implementoing the project, GECE has undertaken the survey of 2,300 km distribution network in the city using global positioning system (GPS) and created a digital map of the network.

It has also built asset management system for substation equipment and distribution transformers, which improves reliability and quality of power supply.

GECE had earlier executed similar projects in Khammam, Nalgonda and Mahaboobnagar towns in Andhra Pradesh under the DFID-funded AP Energy Efficiency Project (APEEP).

As part of the project, the company is currently executing GIS and Trouble Call Management (TCM) system for Hyderabad.

To go online shortly and first-of-its-kind in the country, TCM will be integrated with ABB-Scada system that was set up for monitoring the power supply position in the city, the company said in a press release here.
