| For the period April-September, the total thermal generation touched 11,184 million units (mu) with a plant load factor (PLF) of 85.7 per cent, which is the highest in the country. |

| As part of its anti-pollution efforts, Genco proposes a coal washery at Mahanadi Coal Fields for supply of washed coal to VTPS. It is estimated to cost around Rs 80 crore. |

| Parthasarathy added that about Rs 1,893 crore high-cost loans were swapped with low-cost loans, resulting in a saving of Rs 168 crore. Another Rs 1,493 crore is proposed for swapping by the fiscal end, saving an amount of Rs 170 crore. |
