“GESIA is taking an official trade mission of Gujarat’s electronics, IT and ICT sector as an exhibitor for the first time to an international market. Fourteen companies are participating in CeBIT in Hannover, Germany, where they will showcase their products and services. In addition, GESIA will seek to mobilise participation from overseas IT companies during Vibrant Gujarat in 2015,” senior consultant to GESIA Mignesh Parekh said.
“CeBIT has committed to participate in Vibrant Gujarat next year and we are obliging by participating in CeBIT this year to promote Gujarat as an upcoming IT destination. A Gujarat pavillion (set up with the help of state government) has been installed at CeBIT. We will be inviting 15-20 companies from Europe to participate in the business summit next year,” he added.
Six companies, Parekh said, had participated individually in CeBIT last year.
He further said that Gujarat will be the next upcoming IT destination after Bangalore, Hyderabad, Noida and Pune because of high cost of infrastructure in the latter cities and rising cost of productivity.
The 14 companies trade mission is being led by GESIA president Pankaj Shah and is supported by Department of Science and Technology of the state government under the international cooperation scheme.
GESIA has also planned B2B business meetings in other countries like Brussels, Amsterdam and Paris in addition to the CeBIT fair.
