Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilisers Company Ltd(GNFC) has registered a maximum turnover of Rs 1477.63 crore and a profit before tax of Rs 118.19 crore during the financial year 2001-02.
In the production aspect also, GNFC scored impressive results as both the ammonia and urea plants of GNFC achieved more than 100 percent capacity utilisation eleventh year in a row, while the nitrophosphate group of plants achieved highest ever capacity utilisation.
At its 26th annual general meeting held at Bharuch on last Thursday, Pradipsinh Jadeja, chairman, said that GNFC had established 68 new records of production and sales during the financial year under review.

"With the modernisation of methanol, formic acid and nitric acid plants, the production capacity of these plants has improved. With the commissioning of acetic acid expansion project during November this year, additional revenue will also be generated and all these will have a positive impact on the profitability of the company."
Listing the production performance of its subsidiary, Narmada Chematur Petrochemicals Ltd during the first quarter, Jadeja said that NCPL achieved that highest ever production of 26,170 MTs of aniline and 10,770 MTs of TDI during the year 2001-02, crossing international benchmarks of capacity utilisation. NCPL registered a turnover of Rs 241.32 crore and a PAT of Rs 17.80 crore during this time after wiping out past-accumulated losses of Rs 2.66 crore.
