Around 60 students from various engineering colleges of Mumbai and Goa will attend a two-day 10th annual conference of Indian Environmental Association (IEA) tomorrow.

The tenth edition of the conference will be inaugurated by state governor SC Jamir in the presence of industries minister Luizinho Faleiro at Donapaula, 5 km away from here.

Students of IIT Powai (Mumbai), S P Engineering College, Mumbai, and Goa Engineering College will be attending the conference.

"Conference's theme is water harvesting, conservation and hazardous waste management... We expect to have brainstorming sessions on these aspects during the conference which will churn out certain suggestions that would be forwarded to the government", Govind Tiwari, president, Indian Environment Association, said.

The students will also display their posters on bio-plastics, eco-industrial network, technologies for decontamination of soil polluted with heavy metals and other topics, he said.

IEA is an environment-NGO spread over India's seven major cities, including Mumbai, Chennai and Pune.
