Budget 2003-04
The state government as part of its exercise to demystify the budget has decided to conduct a series of workshops across the state to seek the feedback from the public on the annual budget 2003-04.
The exercise, to be carried out for the second year in succession, was formally kicked off today with the chief minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, holding a review meeting with all the secretaries of the government.

This will be followed by a meeting by the chief minister with all the heads of departments (HoDs), concerned ministers and secretaries on January 17 and a state-level workshop on January 21.
The chief minister will release the annual fiscal framework (budget proposals) on January 22, which will be followed by the release of departmental performance budgets by the concerned ministers between January 23 to 25.
Announcing the schedule of draft performance budget exercise, which was approved at today's cabinet meeting, S Chandramohan Reddy, the state information minister, said that district-wise workshops will be held from January 27 to 30.
The entire exercise will culminate in the finalisation of the budget for the year 2003-04 by the finance department on February 10.
Reviewing the drought situation in the state, the government put the total estimated loss of agricultural production in the state during the current year at Rs 5,226 crore.
