Govt clears Rs 675 crore infrastructure plan

 The industrial infrastructure upgradation scheme is aimed at providing transport, road, water, power and fuel supply, solid waste disposal, effluent treatment, and communication technology support in select industrial clusters/locations, an official release issued after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today said.

 To start with, 20-25 high growth potential clusters/locations will be taken up for development in the Tenth Five-Year Plan period (2002-07), it said. The scheme would be implemented through special purpose vehicles (SPVs) formed by industry associations to ensure that the infrastructure development is user-driven, it said.
