Government departments in Odisha have logged Plan expenditure of 97.82% in 2013-14.
Out of the approved Plan outlay of Rs 21,500 crore in the last fiscal, an expenditure of the order of Rs 21,031.92 crore was incurred, minister for planning & coordination Usha Devi said in a written reply in the state assembly.
The departments that registered more than 90% spending are agriculture, cooperation, energy, health & family welfare, higher education, home, industries, rural development, transport, tourism, panchayati raj, women & child development (W&CD) and works to name a few.
Plan expenditure was not up to the desired level in case of departments like commerce, general administration, water resources and law.
It may be noted that the state government had clocked a Plan expenditure of Rs 15,027 crore for 2012-13, marginally falling short of the budget estimate (BE) of Rs 15,200 crore for the fiscal though exceeding revised estimate (RE) of Rs 15,000 crore.
