As a long-term measure for meeting the shortage of pilots in the country, the union cabinet today approved the setting up of a flying and aviation training institute as a joint venture between Airports Authority of India (AAI) and CAE, Canada. The union cabinet also agreed to CAE taking over the management of the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi.CAE will run the academy in a professional manner to train 100 pilots every year.
