The BJP yesterday charged the United Front government with influencing the CBI to dilute the case against Bihar Chief Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav in the multi-crore fodder scam. It also held that CBI chief Joginder Singh had become a willing partner in the nefarious game played by the political clique in Delhi."
A BJP spokesman pointed out that Prime Minister Deve Gowda and Laloo yadav had a meeting at Delhi recently after which Deve Gowda called a meeting of the CBI chief and law minister Rama Kant Khalap. Khalap gave instructions to the CBI to submit an additional report to the Patna High Court supervising the fodder scam probe. The BJP alleged that the additional report which was prepared by a DIG rank officer, as against the earlier one which was prepared by a CBI joint director, intended to dilute the case against Yadav.
Condemning the government's interference in the CBI as illegal and unconstitutional",the party said the UF had launched a shameless conspiracy to save Laloo Yadav from the approaching arms of the law.
