The Andhra Pradesh government was doing its level best to create a peaceful atmosphere to facilitate the second round of talks with naxalities, home minister K Jana Reddy said here on Saturday. |
"When the government was striving hard to create a peaceful climate, the naxalities should also cooperate with the government so that second round of talks could be held," Reddy, who was here to inaugurate a "unified police service centres" for Vijayawada Commisssionerate, told reporters. |

He said there was no (no) link with withdrawal of arms by naxalites to hold second round of talks. "There is no link between holding talks and withdrawal of arms by them," Reddy said. |

He said following stray incidents in the last one and half months, the government decided to first focus on maintaining law and order before taking up second round of talks. |

"When people have reposed confidence in us and asked us to govern the state our duty should be to maintain law and order," he added. |

On a different issue, he said the government had already withdrawn cases against people who have agitated for withdrawal of electricity charges increased during tdp regime. |
