The state government is keen to study the implications of the recommendations of pay revision committee (PRC) in the light of the recommendations of 12th Finance Commission on the management of state finances before their implementation.

Addressing media here on Wednesday, K Rosaiah, state finance minister said that a high-level committee comprising three senior IAS officers has been appointed by the government to study the 5-volume PRC report from all angles.

"It is not our intention to delay the implementation of PRC recommendations. We want to know the implications as the state is going to lose heavily if the Finance Commissions recommendations are not kept in mind," he said.

According to him, the state government will get a benefit of Rs 6,507 crore in case it meets the targets in the 12th Finance Commission report, including the reduction of revenue and fiscal deficits.

Allaying fears of the state government employees, he said the officials committee would give its observations in less than two months time.

He noted that the government never went back on any issue pertaining to the interests of its employees, including sanctioning of 8.5 per cent interim relief amounting to about Rs 850 crore.
