Come November 15, all property registration and transfer of non-agricultural assets would be recorded on video in Gujarat.
The state government has issued a notification to video record all registration and transfer of non agriculture assets effective from November 15. So far, only registrations of agricultural assets are recorded on video by the Stamp and Registration Department. This was implemented in June this year.
In the wake of rising prices of agricultural assets in the state and with an aim to safeguard the illiterate farmers, Gujarat government had started video recording of all the registration of agriculture assets from June 2015.
“We have seen expected results of video recording of registration of agriculture assets. Based on that, we have decided to replicate the same in non agriculture assets registration and transfer. Video recording of all the documents of the registration and transfer will be done,” informed a senior official of stamp and registration department of Gujarat.
According to the notification, the current regulations of registration will also be in action. Video recording of all the documents is the additional mandatory rule for safety and to avoid legal disputes between the parties.
In case of power of attorney documents, recording of questionnaires of both the parties will be done by the department, said the notification.
