In a bid to make rural community abreast with the climatic changes, commodity prices and keep them well-informed about the government schemes for their respective villages, the Gujarat government will place LED screens in the villages. As a pilot project, the state chief minister Narendra Modi would launch 'Gujarat Swarnim Gram E-Broadcast Project' in Amreli today, the government informed in a statement issued today. Initially the project will be implemented as 'district pilot scheme' in 51 villages of 11 talukas of Amreli district.
The LED screens in villages are expected to rapidly disseminate information relating to precautionary actions at the time of natural calamities, weather information for agriculturaluse, pro-village schemes of the government, 24-hour alert system, important public messages of the government, daily commodity rates, government recruitments and health related information. The initiative is aimed at establishing a direct contact with villagers. the government had connected all 13,696 panchayats of the state with 'E-Gram Vishwa-Gram' broadband connectivity.
