The Gujarat government on Saturday announced it would set up India's first world-class Maritime Park at Dahej, which is about 100 km away from Vadodara.
"Gujarat has 1,600 km long coastline and there is a good potential for the development of ship building, breaking, deep sea vessels and other activities connected with shipping industry. So it has been decided to give priority to develop a maritime park here (at Dahej)," Chief Minister Narendra Modi said. He was speaking after inaugurating a new factory of Roxul Rockwool Insulation.
Denmark-based Rockwool is the world's largest producer of stone wool for insulations in building and construction as well as industry. It has opened a greenfield factory for the production of stone wool insulation products.
