In view of increased demand due to hot weather conditions and delayed monsoon, coupled with low frequency prevailing in the Northern Grid, the Haryana Power Distribution Utilities the Dakshin Harryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) and the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) have restricted power supply to eight hours daily to the industries in the State with immediate effect.
Restricted power supply to industries has become necessary for giving, as per schedule, adequate power supply to agriculture sector and domestic sector.
An official spokesman said here today that as per new power regulatory measures issued by DHBVN the industrial and independent industrial feeders in its area would now get power supply for eight hours daily.
For power supply, the Nigam has divided industries in two zones putting the operation circles Faridabad, Bhiwani and Narnaul in zone-1and operation circles Gurgaon, Hisar and Sirsa in zone -2.
Zone-1 will get power from 1 am to 9 am on odd dates and from 9 am to 5 pm on even dates and zone-2 will get power from 1 am to 9 am on even dates and from 9 am to 5 pm on odd dates. Thus, timing of supply will remain changing on alternate days.
In the area of UHBVN, comprised of operation circles Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Panipat, Karnal, Rohtak, Sonipat, Jind and Jhajjar will get power supply from 8 am to 4 pm daily.
However, the spokesman said, a load equal to five per cent of the normal load will be allowed to the industries for lighting purposes at the time of power cut during night.
