With over 47.54 lakh metric tonnes of paddy arrival in the mandis of Haryana till yesterday, the state has surpassed its last year’s total arrival of paddy of over 46.12 lakh metric tonnes.
While stating this on Wednesday, Haryana food and supplies minister, Mahender Partap Singh said that the government procuring agencies had so far purchased over 29.23 lakh metric tonnes of paddy and delivered over 4.12 lakh metric tonnes of custom milled rice to Food Corporation of India. Giving details of the purchase made by government agencies, he said that over 10.59 lakh metric tonnes of paddy had been purchased by food and supplies department and over 10.10 lakh metric tonnes by Hafed. Haryana Agro Industries Corporation had purchased over 3.76 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, Confed 2.45 lakh metric tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation over 2.30 lakh metric tonnes and Food Corporation of India procured 305 metric tonnes of paddy.
