The Karnataka high court on Tuesday adjourned the bail plea of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa to October 20. With this, Yeddyurappa, being treated at Sri Jayadeva Hospital, is left with no option but to go back to jail.
Justice B V Pinto adjourned the hearing on his petition for an interim bail. He was arrested on Saturday last in two corruption cases, as prosecution lawyers sought time to submit their objections to granting bail.
Yeddyurappa filed two bail pleas in the high court on Monday, one for interim bail and another for regular bail. He has sought interim bail as hearing in regular bail will take time.
Meanwhile, Yeddyurappa, who was supposed to be shifted back to Parappana Agrahara jail in Bangalore, has been admitted to Victoria Hospital.
Yeddyurappa was on Saturday sent to judicial custody till October22 by special Lokayukta court judge N K Sudhindra Rao in two of five cases of corruption and illegal land deals filed by two Bangalore advocates in January this year.
