The Delhi High Court today restrained the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) from taking physical possession of Escorts Hospital whose lease deed was cancelled by the authority yesterday.The order was passed by Justice Anil Kumar on a petition under the Arbitration Act filed by Escorts Hospital.The court also issued notice to the DDA asking it to file a reply to the Escorts petition within two weeks, and posted the matter for further hearing on November 21. The interim order will remain in operation till the next date of hearing.When asked if the company had moved the court against the cancellation of the lease agreement, Harpal Singh, chairman of Fortis Healthcare, said: "Yes, we have moved the court."Rajan Nanda, chairman of Escorts, said: "We have nothing to do with it. It is for Fortis to take whatever action necessary."Fortis had signed a deal some time back with Escorts to buy Escorts Hospital - a move that has been challenged in the court by Anil Nanda.
