The Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) is all poised to host the Asian Development Bank's 39th annual general meeting to be held here from May 3. Over 500 HICC staff and 600 support staff have been employed and trained to manage the various facets of the event proficiently. |
According to HICC general manager Philip Logan, elaborate security arrangements are being made for the meeting, as prescribed by the ADB security personnel. An access control system based on RFID (radio frequency identification) will be placed at all entry and exit points that will scrutinise every person entering the premises. |
As many as 34 closed circuit televisions will monitor the proceedings. Logan told mediapersons on Monday that 44 concurrent business sessions were scheduled to be held during the four-day meeting. |
The HICC convention facility has a 20,000-square feet internal hall that could be quickly partitioned into six smaller halls to accommodate different categories of events including conferences, seminars and board meetings. About 84 offices would be functioning out of the facility during the ADB meet. |
