Rachel Chatterjee, the chairman and managing director of APTransco, said that the committee would meet frequently to monitor the power supply position and advise on purchase of power from various other sources to meet additional demand.
At present, there is a supply-demand gap of about 20 million units (mu) whereas the expected availability of power per day will be up to 140 mu, she said. APTransco plans to overdraw power from the central generating stations to meet the demand.
