Himachal Pradesh will soon set up ten new industrial areas equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure at a cost of Rs 3,000 crore in different parts of the hill state.
This was stated by state industries minister Kishan Kapoor on the occasion of ‘Himachal Utsav’ at the India International Trade Fair-2010 in New Delhi on Saturday.
“The process is underway to provide around 5,000 bighas of land at six new locations in Nalagarh area to industrial houses,” said Kapoor.
“Another large chunk of land measuring over 12,000 bighas has been earmarked at Sanspur terrace, Milwan, Kandrori and Indora in Kangra district for the expansion of industrial estates,” he said.
He further said the state government is setting up an industrial land bank so that easy access to the availability of land is ensured to interested industrial houses.
“In January 2011 the first Himachal utsav’ will be organised in Mumbai to help invite investors into the state,” Kapoor said.

He said a textile park would be set up in Una district with an investment of Rs 350 crore which would provide 2,000 jobs and indirect employment to 10,000 others.
“To ensure 24 hour electricity supply in the industrial hub of Baddi-Barotiwala and Nalagarh (BBN) a double circuit supply line of Rs 45 crore has already been laid. A 400 Kv high voltage project has been started with a cost of Rs 192 crore to ensure high voltage,” he said.
There is also a plan to build a transport city with a cost of Rs 11 crore in the BBN area.
