"Of the 22,000 houses, to be built by the tamil nadu Housng board, 5,000 houses will be constructed by the end of this year", he said, speaking to reporters at the sidelines of a function here.
He said around 1,000 to 2,000 houses would be constructed in Foreshore Estate area, some in surburban Valasaravakkam and the remaining in various parts of the state.
The Tamil Nadu Housing Board currently holds Rs 200 crore while the remaining funds would be generated by floating tenders, he added.
