Summer closing educational institutions will now have a 36 day monsoon break from June 25 to July 30 every year in Himachal Pradesh .
The monsoon break will not apply to Lahaul & Spiti district which is beyond the purview of the monsoon. The state cabinet has decided to implement the new vacation schedule in all state owned educational institutions. A six day festival break will start two days before Diwali and the ten day winter break will start from January 7 to January 16 in every academic session.
In Kullu district, the six day festival break will start one day before the Dussehra festival . In Lahaul & Spiti, the summer break will start from July 17 and end on Aug 27.
In winter closing schools the ten day monsoon break will start on July 21 and end on July 30.
