I-T dept to question Mayawati clean chit

The finance ministry will move the Delhi High Court to challenge the order of the Income Appellate Tax Tribunal that gifts in cash and property to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati were not taxable.

The move comes in the backdrop of strained ties between Mayawati's BSP and the Congress.
