IAF kicks off recruitment drive in Maharashtra

Indian Air Force today announced a major recruitment rally in Maharashtra as a part of the the mega air awareness campaign to be kick started from October 14 to 17.
 
There are around 11,000 vacancies, at this juncture, across the board in the Indian Air Force which employes around 1.4 lakh airmen, Air Marshal SK Jain said in a media conference in Mumbai.
 
Flag carrier Air India, Indian Air Force and the government of Maharashtra have joined hands to present a grand air show in Mumbai on October 17 that will showcase the frontline fleet of Indian Air Force comprising fighter aircraft like Jaguar, MiG-29, Mirage 2000, MiG-21, MiG-27, SU-30 as well as Helicopters, missiles and mobile radars. Air-India will be displaying its Boeing 747-400 and Airbus 310.
 
A static display of the aircraft is planned at the Sahar Airport in Mumbai. This is to commemorate 50 years of Air Marshal S Mukherjee assuming charge as the first Indian chief of air staff and to pay tribute to JRD Tata's pioneering contribution in the field of aviation.
 
"The idea behind the awareness canpaign and the recruitment drive is to give out information on the carrer prospects in armed force," Jain said. The recriutment campaign is planned to be held at Air Force Station Cotton Green from October 18 to 21.
