| Pending the formal approval from ICAI headquarters in New Delhi, the two chapters would be commissioned for normal operations. |
| At present, there are 30 ICAI chapters in the southern region, including the one at Rajahmundry, which was inaugurated on June 24. According to Kandasamy, 30,000"�40,000 new members enroll in the institute every year. |
| As many as 3 lakh students have enlisted for the course all over the country. However, with a new scheme of curriculum being in the offing, 2-3 lakh more students (from Inter level itself) are expected to take up the profession. |
| The transitional advantages of the new syllabus have already been published and the institute is making all efforts to create an awareness among students, parents and teachers about the programme. |
| He said that the western zone was leading the membership enrollment followed by south, north, central and eastern regions in the country. The institute would take initiatives to have its own buildings for its various chapters across the southern India. |
| Meanwhile, SIRC will host SAFA conference (South Asian Federation of Accountants) in Chennai sometime in September-October this year. |
| Similarly, pending the approval from the central council, a location in southern India will hosting IFAC conference (International Federation of Accountants Convention) at the end of this year. |
