IIM-A to organise seminar on health sector reforms

The Public Systems Group of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) in association with the Nuffield Institute for Health, University of Leeds, UK is organising a series of seminars on health sector reforms under the Higher Educational Link Scheme of the British Council. The three-day seminar, organised at IIM-A from February 23, will focus on 'Service Quality Improvements.'
 
"The second seminar in the series will be held in 2005 and will focus on 'Organisational Preparedness for Reforms', while the third seminar will be held in 2006, which will focus on 'Financial Management Issues in Health Reforms,'" said K V Ramani, chairman Public Systems Group.
 
'Quality Improvement in the context of Reforms: Directions, Experience and Challenges' is the topic of the first seminar. The objective of it is to promote quality consciousness in health organisations and share experiences, approaches and resources for quality improvement.
 
 
The seminar will also discuss the future strategies and activities for promoting quality improvement and providing opportunity for networking with individuals and institutions working on quality.
 
The content of the seminar will cover a wide range of topics on service quality on public health as well as primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare services.
 
More than 100 delegates are expected to attend the seminar, which includes policy makers from health departments, hospital managers and administrators, non-gvernmental organisations (NGOs) heads, technical officers of international agenies, executives from health insurance industry, faculty members from medical colleges, doctors, nurses and academicians from India and abroad.
