The Indian Institutes of Management may take more than a week's time to release the final list of admission due to lack of clarity on who comes under the creamy layer ambit while implementing 27 per cent OBC reservation, a top IIM-A official said. "This might take more than a week. We cannot exactly give the dates as there is lot of confusion regarding operationalisation of creamy layer part as the apex court's order has said that they (creamy layer) cannot avail reservation benefits," IIM-A director Sameer Barua said. "We initially thought that we will be able to sort out the issue in a week. But that is not possible," Barua said. The IIM-A has received the copy of court order and has gone through it throughly, Barua said. There are no clear guidelines on who comes in creamy layer and who is out of its ambit, another IIM-A official said adding that is the reason the list might be delayed. All the IIMs will declare the admission list on the same day, official said. The court order had come just a day ahead of IIMs official date to announce the final list of admission. The IIMs were to declare its list today but had deferred it by a week due to the order. The court in its order yesterday had said that the "creamy layer" among the OBC cannot take benefit of the quota in central educational institutions as they are economically advanced and educationally forward".
