The BSP had wanted a joint rally with the Congress but the state level Congress leadrs were not present. The impressive rally attracted a large number of people. There were a fair number of Muslims, although not many turned up from the city, which has a sizeable Muslim population.
Bukhari said Deve Gowda and Mulayam Singh could have solved Muslims' problems. But instead of doing that, they were busy organising meetings with Bal Thackeray, through their emissaries Amar Singh and C M Ibrahim.
It was when the United Front government failed to solve the problems of Muslims, which it had promised to, he had invited Kanshi Ram to Jama Masjid, where, after a series of meetings, he resolved to support the BSP.

But the intentions of the Prime Minister don't look honourable, and now the Congress was finding it difficult to continue its support.
He said justice has not been delivered to Mayawati yet on the June 2 incident. If the BSP wins in UP justice would be delivered.
