"Mayawati tried to topple the government in order to become the Prime Minister and when she did not succeed, she claimed that she was stopped as she was a 'dalit ki beti'," Paswan said at a press conference here.
He claimed that the BSP supremo was paying crores as Income Tax, then how can she can say that she was underprivileged.
"No party can come to power or any person become Prime Minister in this country unless they have the support of either the UPA or NDA," he said.
Terming the UNPA as well as NDA as "opportunistic" alliances, Paswan said the money for votes issue was just a gimmick put up by them as they knew they were losing.
"All this was drama, we want a proper probe into the money for votes scam as well as how the MPs got the money inside," he said.

The Left parties' only agenda was to remove the Prime Minister and for that they formed the "unholy" alliance.
"The Left parties would know what Mayawati is after two months," he added.
Siding with Speaker Somnath Chatterjee on the issue of his expulsion from CPI(M), he said, "I would request the Speaker to continue in his chair and guide the country in future also".
