Observing that both China and India should be "good" neighbours, friends and partners, Chinese President Hu Jintao has said they should seize the "good opportunities" to enhance their ties, which have global implications."China and India should be good neighbours, good friends and good partners," Hu told Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during their first-ever meeting on the sidelines of the two-day Asian-African Summit here yesterday."At present, the Sino-Indian relations face precious opportunities of development, both countries should seize the good opportunities and push forward bilateral mutually-beneficial cooperation," Hu said."The Sino-Indian ties are one of the most important bilateral relations in Asia and the world at large. The strategic impact of Sino-Indian ties is far beyond both bilateral and Asian ranges," Hu was quoted as saying by China's official Xinhua news agency.Responding to Hu's remarks, Singh said China is a great neighbour of India and the Indian government attaches great importance to developing its relations with Beijing.India and China are partners seeking common development, Singh was quoted as saying by Xinhua, adding that the Indian government is willing to take the opportunity of establishing strategic partnership toward peace and prosperity, and push forward the development of bilateral ties in an around-way.During the meeting, the two leaders expressed satisfaction with the development of Sino-India ties, and highly praised Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's recent visit to India.
