In a bid to enhance cooperation in the field of higher education, India and Malaysia today agreed to set up a task-force to examine the issue of mutual recognition of each others university degrees.
Minister for Human Resources Development Kapil Sibal and Malaysia's Minister of Higher Education Mohammed Khaled decided that the two countries should accelerate efforts towards signing a Memorandum of Understanding in cooperation in the field of higher education.
The task force will give its recommendation to the two ministers in a time bound schedule. It will examine the issue of equivalence of degrees and their mutual recognitions. The two ministers met here on the sidelines of the 17th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers, which began here this morning.
