The CII and the Indian embassy at Yangon will jointly organise a four-day 'Made in India' show in Myanmar from February 19 to 22 to promote trade and economic cooperation between the countries. |
The show will cover sectors like construction, steel, engineering and electrical, solar energy, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, cosmetics and garments. |

"The show will provide an opportunity to companies to present glimpses of an economically resurgent India," a CII release issued in New Delhi on Tuesday said. |

The release added, "There is a special focus on increasing the opportunities for trade and investment between Myanmar and the Northeast. The 'Made in India' show has dedicated a separate section to highlight the achievements of the northeastern states. The exhibition will feature handicrafts, leather-ware, farming equipment, rattan and furniture, home furnishings, carpets and shawls, kitchen items etc." |

Myanmar Commerce Minister Brig Gedn Pyi Sone, and Lakshmi Chand, secretary, department of industrial policy & promotion, will inaugurate the exhibition. |
