India and the UAE today held discussions to improve the present recruiting and contracting system of Indian workers in the foreign country.
Vayalar Ravi, Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs, had a meeting with UAE’s Labour Minister Saqr Ghobash Saeed Ghobash.
According to government sources, the two ministers also discussed on various means to be adopted for the benefit of Indian workers.
"The two ministers agreed that a grievance redressal mechanism consisting of officials from the Embassy and the Ministry of Labour would be set up in near future so that labour-related issues could be quickly examined and disposed of," a statement from the Indian embassy in UAE said.
Ghobash also conveyed that his country is committed to work for the systematic upgradation of the living and working conditions of all Indian workers.
