Hyderabad-based Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), on Friday launched three dairy nutrition products, marking its foray into the animal feed supplement market. |
The products include Calsagar, which contains calcium, phosphorus and vitamin D3, and which the company claims would improve milk production by 20 per cent, Garbhamin, for improved reproductive performance, and Goumix, a first customised mineral supplement for livestock in the country. Goumix has been launched in four variants based on the regional mineral mapping done by the NDDB. |

M Anand, head of marketing, IIL, told the media that the company would launch more feed supplements such as 'By Pass Fat' and By Pass Protein', which are considered to be vastly superior to conventional oil cakes and locally available fat supplements, by next year. |
Stating that the animal feed supplement market in the country was currently pegged at Rs 200 crore, and growing at 20 per cent annually, he said IIL aimed at garnering revenues to the extent of Rs 25 crore from the newly-launched products over the next one year. |
"With some more new products in the pipeline, we are hopeful of capturing a 50 per cent market share in the next five years," he added. |
IIL is ranked third among animal health companies and eighth among bio-pharmaceutical companies in India. It has a capacity to produce 120 million dosages of vaccines per year. |
