Indo-Pak trade turnover improves to $2.5 billion

Indian High Commissioner Dr T C A Raghavan has said the trade turnover between Islamabad and New Delhi has improved substantially to 2.5 billion dollars, and it is expected that Pakistani exports to India will enhance to 500 million dollars.

Raghavan said that the opening of Khokhrapar-Monabao passenger train service has paved way for lots of opportunities for both countries to look forward towards the possibility of carrying out trade, the Daily Times reports.

He further stressed the need for resolving issues between the two South Asian neighbors in a bid to continue doing normal trading activities.

He said that both the governments should work jointly to effectively deal with the visa issue and suggested that India must relax its visa policy, which restricts city-to-city movement of Pakistani visitors.
