Indo-US nuclear deal on track: Boucher

Terming the Indo-US civilian nuclear agreement as an extension of the bilateral technical cooperation, US Assistant Secretary of State for bureau of south and central Asian Affairs, Richard A Boucher today said, "The agreement is on track, it is moving forward swiftly. The US Senate will examine the contents of the agreement in September and I am sure it will be cleared, just the way it was entered into by President Bush and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh."

The next few months, he said, would be an extremely busy time for the two sides in moving the economic relationship forward.

The visit to India of the US Commerce Under Secretary of State, Franklin Lavin, at the head of a trade mission in November this year would further strengthen the business to business relations between the two countries, Boucher said, adding that the response to the trade mission was unprecedented among businesses in the US.
