Higher fuel, food and non-food items pushed up inflation marginally to 3.16% during the week ended September 3 from 3.01% in the previous week.The wholesale price index (WPI) moved up 0.4% to 195.7 points mainly due to costlier industrial fuel although manufactured products' prices declined. The index was at 189.7 a year ago, and inflation based on the WPI was 8.15% in the year-ago period.The government revised upward the inflation to 4.46% for the week ended July 9 from the provisional level of 4.14% while the WPI stood corrected at 194.5 points as against the earlier estimate of 193.9 points.
