Costlier fuel and manufactured items, including edible oils, pushed up inflation to 4.95% for the week ended February 26.The point-to-point inflation based on the wholesale price index (WPI) rose by 0.12% from the previous week's level of 4.83% despite cheaper mass consumption primary articles.The price level was as high as 5.21% in the previous-year period.The government revised downwards the inflation to 5.72% for the week ended January 1 as compared to the provisional level of 5.78%. The WPI stood corrected at 188.5 points as against provisinal estimate of 188.6 points.
